The makeup brushes I reach for the most in my kit are the ones listed below. After years of working in this industry and many wrong buys, you work your way around how a brush can be multitasked with. I have simplified it for you according to usage and which are essential buys.

*Caution: This is for makeup enthusiasts only! Because we know investing in a good brush is a necessity for makeup experimentation. 😀

Hope you enjoy the post xo

And now the brushes listed down by number:

1. Sigma F80 – Hands down my most used foundation brush. But, this is for myself. For clients I prefer a beauty blender because it gives me better control.

2. MAC 227 –  I multi task with this dense brush. Powder my under eye concealer. Contour my nose and if my client wants a sharp cheek bone contour.

3. MAC 242 – A cult favourite for makeup artists to simply place eyeshadows and glitter on the eye socket.

4. MAC 224 – The best blending brush out there!

5. Sephora 28 – Excellent for application of my eyeshadow base. I originally bought this for applying my concealer but found the bristles too open for that.

6. MAC 217 – Another essential eyeshadow blending brush.

7. MAC 239 (Yes lots of MAC, because that is what I started my kit with and they still stand loyal) – Essential for eyeshadow application.

8. Inglot 30T – Not essential but a lovely angled eyeliner brush.

9. Kryolan – Sorry the number is rubbed off but its a normal shading brush. The next bet would be MAC 228 OR 231

10. Sephora 15 – Another synthetic angled eye liner (gel) brush.

11. Bobbi brown – Angled eye brush to strategically place your eyeshadow on the outer corner to create depth of shadow.

Now on to my favourite face brushes.

12. Real Techniques – Setting brush – To set your concealer with a powder. (these are budget friendly and last forever)

13. Real Techniques – Contour brush – Hands down my most used brush to shadow the face.

14. Real Techniques – Buffing brush – I use this for overall face powder application. When in hurry, I buff in powder on my face instead of foundation. Flawless!

15. Bdellium tools – This lovely pink brush eases concealer cover up. *Budget friendly

16. Sigma (number rubbed off – very similar to MAC 168) – Versatile approach to contouring, blush application, or just a powder bronzer. You can go as light or as heavy handed with this one. A must have!

17. MAC 129 – A regular blush brush. Does its job just right.

18. MAC 187 – And we end with this big brother who helps me in light foundation application, brushing off excess powder or simply placing powder lightly on the face.

The brushes mentioned above are just few of the ones I use every single day. But these are the ones I reach for the most.

That is the Bobbi Brown Makeup manual. The first and only makeup book I every bought and still stay inspired. xo
